Feeling Home

Feeling Home is a KA2 Cooperation Partnership, co-funded by the Erasmus+ fund of the European Union. Led by Iberika Education Group (Germany), the project gathers partnerships from Sweden (SwIdeas AB), Spain (Associacio La Xixa Teatre), Greece (Synergasia Enegon Politon), and Italy (Centro per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci).

Its primary aim was to achieve a reduction in the risk of social exclusion of migrant women in our society by promoting education, enhancing tolerance, and motivating trainers and learners for a lifelong learning strategy focusing on the needs of migrant women.

Migrant women had disadvantageous preconditions for learning and were less likely to access integration-supported linguistic offers due to caring responsibilities. Therefore, language learning opportunities for migrant women were tailored to their specific needs.

Additionally, Feeling Home aimed to improve the competences of educators for the delivery of informal training, including digital, and offered ready solutions that easily enhanced teaching strategies for vulnerable groups.

Feeling Home had two main objectives:

  • to increae language learning opportunities for migrant women by creating a new informal pedagogical approach to enhance their integration possibilities in the host countries.
  • to support overwhelmed language trainers working with migrants and vulnerable groups with new methodologies, best practice examples, and an extensive repository for free materials and digital tools.:

As the main result:

  • 150 migrant women improved their language skills and were empowered to express their opinions and needs.

  • Additionally, 25 teachers improved their professional competences in alternative language teaching methods.
